a slice of my life: february favorites, march daily journal prompts, the oscars, and a special feature from my best friend

Usually, I write journal prompts on the last day of the previous month, but today you’re reading this mere moments after I wrote it. Truth be told, the last few days of February have been a bit chaotic (in a good way) for me. My best friend, Sofia, has spent the last few days with me (she’s next to me as I’m writing this), and we’ve been bouncing around DC, trying new restaurants, shopping, and seeing some of our friends. I'm superstitious about talking about exciting news before it’s 110% true, but I spent the last bit of February interviewing for a new job, and so I am officially very happy to tell you guys that today is my first day!

I’m keeping these journal prompt/monthly catch-up posts pretty informal from here on out, kind of just me talking to you and sharing some of my favorite things like we’re out on a little coffee date. Since I have Sofia here, and she’s someone I care about more than anything, I wanted to give you guys a chance to get to know her too. This month, I’m letting Sofia write a little column here, and I hope you enjoy it!

Last night, my friend

Andrew Powers

hosted an Oscars watch party, complete with themed beverages for movies, and it rocked. We filled out ballots (I did pretty well), and I stress ate pretzels and twizzlers while I watched Timothée Chalamet lose. I’m not writing a full think piece about the ceremony (maybe Andrew will if we ask nicely), but here are some personal highlights from last night:
