big changes and the future of people's princess <3

people’s princess has changed my life. i’m full of so much joy to have this community to share my writing with, and i wish there were strong enough words to express the love and gratitude i have for all of you. for the past 6 months, i’ve been taking this writing thing seriously, and my main philosophy since starting this project has been to only post when i feel like i have something to say, rather than put out content just for engagement.

i’m going to be restructuring people’s princess. there are over 3,000 of you now (INSANE!!!!!) and i’ve had paid subscribers on for a bit, but i haven’t really promoted it or found a niche that feels “worthy” of payment. after a lot of thought, conversations (thank you

), and the realization that this writing thing really is my dream, it feels like the time for me to actually try to turn my writing into something concrete.

how i’m about to be writing for you all

don’t get me wrong, i always will prioritize free subscribers, writing is art and art does not need to cost a ton of money to be worth something. this isn’t going to change anything for free subscribers— i will still be writing weekly/biweekly essays with the same love and quality i have been, but paid subscriptions will provide some extra perks and more content!

i want to make it incredibly clear to you all, i’m not going to be using the paid subscriber option to post “easy content.” i would really love to put out high-quality content for those who would be willing to support me! i want to make sure the space i’m taking up in your inbox is worth it! the paid content i will be producing will consist of:

• long-form essays, deep diving into topics i feel passionate about, similar to my love island essay and my twin peaks essay.

• book reviews/more literary analysis essays (like my sally rooney essay)

• diaristic posts about some more personal topics: relationships, family, friendships, etc!

• and of course, media roundups/more curated content in each post!!

for a timeline, i plan on posting my first serious paid post later this week, (edit: now posted!!) a mini essay about the love i have for autumn, coupled with an ultimate autumn media (and recipe) guide!

i promise to make your time and money worth it! paid subscriptions will be $6 monthly (think of it like buying me a cup of coffee in exchange for my writing) or $65 yearly. for my first month of this, i’ll be giving away 10 paid subscriptions to subscribers, so just like this post to automatically be considered!
